Newborn Photography South Wales - Newborn Photography Studio - Hello Casi

Welcoming a baby girl into the world is undoubtably one of the most precious moments in a families life. A chapter full of love, cuddles and the promise of a beautiful journey ahead. It was my honour to welcome a family celebrating this joyous time into my newborn photography studio in Abergavenny. Photos capturing the bond of parents and baby, the love of a big brother and the beauty of a brand new life. Welcome to the world Casi Haf.

Every session is special to me, I’m very lucky that my day job is soaking up all those magical emotions of the fourth trimester. BUT this session was something a little extra special for me..you see it was the first session in my brand new newborn photography studio in Abergavenny! It was such a lovely feeling to welcome this family in with open arms, their favourite coffee waiting for them and a plate beautiful sweet treats to share. We sat together before we began, just talking, getting comfortable together and letting big brother, Tommy explore the space a little.

Speaking of Tommy, he was such a dream of a big brother, so keen to shower his little sister with kisses, happy to hold her, cuddles a plenty to give and the brightest smile I’ve seen! He was a superstar and we were able to capture lots of images of him rejoicing in his new role as big brother. I always like to take time to focus on siblings during a newborn photography session. As excited as they are to have their baby sister or brother in the world, it’s a HUGE change for them and it can be a hard adjustment. It’s important the feel just as special as baby, just as included.

We moved on to capturing shots of the whole family in the newborn photography studio. By this point Casi was fast asleep, cuddled up in Mums arms. It was a lovely serene moment, that Mum and Dad will be able to enjoy for years and years to come. An image hung in their home that was taken in those early days as a family of four. Everyone beaming with pride, even Casi has a soft sleepy smile on her face. So even when brother and sister are grown, Mum and Dad will always have a reminder of where it all began.

It was at this point that I suggested Dad take big brother out for a break. As a Mother and as a photographer I always want children to feel heard. It was clear by this point that Tommy needed more space, he’d done wonderfully and it was only right that he get to spend some one on one time with Dad. One of the many joys of having a newborn photography studio in the centre of Abergavenny is that we have lots of places to enjoy nearby. In fact if I remember correctly Dad and Tommy went off and enjoyed a huge croissant together!

This meant also that Mum got to slow down and take in the incredible emotion of having her baby girl in arms. The fourth trimester is very different the second time around, with another child already running around and in need of you, the experience can feel like a bit of a whirlwind. One of the reasons I opened my newborn photography studio was to give Mothers a calm space to hold their little ones close and really soak up every little moment. I think you can see that in these next images. Casi fast asleep and Mum with a huge smile across her face, simple yet beautiful.

Thank you to this wonderful family for entrusting me to immortalise this chapter of their lives. I’m so grateful to have seen a part of this huge new love.
