I don’t talk about this enough, but when my calendar allows, I offer the occasional free breastfeeding photoshoot in Brecon. It’s something that feels really important to me, creating space for women to be seen in this part of motherhood, quietly and without pressure.

Truthfully, I wish I could offer these sessions more often than I do. Life, work, and family all have their own rhythms. But because I know how meaningful these moments are, I’ve created something that’s a little more accessible.

My Held in Nature, Motherhood Sessions.

They’re short, gentle outdoor sessions designed to capture you and your children just as you are. And they are perfect for including breastfeeding. There’s something about being outside, held by the landscape, that softens everything. It allows you to relax into it, rather than feel like you’re being watched.

And that’s exactly how this breastfeeding photoshoot in Brecon felt.

I met Hags and her twin babies at Maendu Well, a hidden little spot tucked away in Brecon. It’s one of those places that feels like it’s been there forever, quiet, still, full of history and this gentle, grounding energy.

You can hear the water, the birds, the subtle movement of the trees. It naturally slows you down. Which is exactly what you need for a breastfeeding photoshoot in Brecon.

Before I go any further, I always like to quickly say that I don’t share images where children’s faces are visible. It’s a choice I made to protect the families I work with. But I can tell you, there were so many beautiful smiles captured that day, moments that Hags will be able to hold onto forever.

And really, that’s what matters.

This session felt so calm from the beginning. Hags arrived with both babies, completely in her rhythm with them. And I have to say, watching a mother breastfeed twins… it’s something else.

I remember how much of a learning curve it was feeding one baby. The early days can feel overwhelming, can’t they? You’re figuring it out together, both of you. So to see her feeding two, holding them both with such steadiness, was incredible.

She told me she’s a twin herself, and that her own mum had been such a support to her on this journey. You could feel that lineage there, that passing down of knowledge and care. That’s something I notice often during a breastfeeding photoshoot in Brecon, these ancient threads between generations.

At one point, Hags settled in to feed both babies, surrounded by the trees and the soft sound of water nearby. It felt so natural and grounded. Just a mother, feeding her babies, exactly as she is.

Later on, we gently encouraged Hags own mum to step into a few photos. There was a bit of laughter about it—we might have slightly persuaded her, but those moments ended up being so special. Three generations together.

I won’t be sharing those images, as the babies’ faces are visible, but I can tell you they’re full of love.

If you’ve ever thought about a breastfeeding photoshoot in Brecon, I just want to say this to you.

However your journey is going—whether it’s felt easy, challenging, emotional, or all of it at once—you are doing something incredible.

Feeding your baby, responding to them, showing up again and again… that takes so much from you. And you deserve to have that seen, in a way that feels gentle and respectful.

A breastfeeding photoshoot in Brecon doesn’t need to be a big thing. It can be as simple as sitting in nature, holding your baby close, and allowing yourself to be in that moment without distraction.

You don’t need to feel completely confident. You don’t need everything to be perfect.

You just need to be there.

And one day, you’ll look back and realise how powerful that season really was and how beautifully you held it.
