I was invited back to this wonderful family to celebrate their newest arrival, Tabitha, and it’s always a joy to witness the growth and love within a family I’ve had the pleasure of photographing over the years. It’s incredible to think that the last time I was with Kelsey, Tom, Jago, and Clara, I was helping them welcome their first daughter into the world with this at home newborn photoshoot in Abergavenny. Now, with Tabitha in their arms, their home is filled with even more laughter, love, and tiny little moments worth capturing.

For this session, I am sharing only images that respect the family’s privacy. I do not share photos of my clients’ children’s faces online, so instead you’ll see beautiful details of Tabitha, tender moments with her parents, and glimpses of the family’s love for each other.

This at home newborn photoshoot in Abergavenny took place in the comfort of the family’s home—a choice I make for so many reasons. Firstly, families feel far more at ease in their own space, and this comfort shines through in the images. Older siblings, like Jago and Clara, are particularly relaxed when they are surrounded by their favourite toys and familiar surroundings, rather than being thrust into a new, potentially overwhelming environment.

There’s also the practical side: it’s far calmer for parents to remain in their own home, rested and ready to enjoy the session, rather than having to transport a newborn out into the world. But beyond convenience, photographing in your home is about capturing your story where it naturally unfolds. Your home is your sanctuary, the space where you nest during the precious fourth trimester, and where you begin to find your rhythm as a new parent. It’s the perfect backdrop for an at home newborn photoshoot in Abergavenny because it reflects your life and your love authentically.

There were so many moments from this shoot that bring a smile to my face. Jago insisted that I include a leaflet from his father’s work in the photos, while giving me a full tour of his “farm.” Clara and Jago took turns driving their pedal cars around the garden, with poor Tom shepherding them back up the driveway, broom in hand. Meanwhile, Kelsey sat blissfully feeding Tabitha, gazing into her daughter’s eyes, completely wrapped up in the wonder of motherhood. These are the candid, unposed moments that make an at home newborn photoshoot in Abergavenny so special—real life unfolding naturally.

Some of my favourite images from the session capture Tom and Kelsey cradling Tabitha. The love and awe in Tom’s eyes as he looks at his wife, the way Kelsey holds her baby with utter devotion—these are fleeting, genuine moments that tell the story of a family growing together. They are unposed, authentic, and incredibly moving, which is exactly what I aim to capture in every session.

An at home newborn photoshoot in Abergavenny allows families to focus on what truly matters: the small, intimate details of life with a newborn, the joy of siblings interacting, and the quiet, loving moments between parents and baby. For Kelsey, Tom, Jago, Clara, and Tabitha, this session was more than photography—it was a celebration of family life, love, and the beautiful chaos of welcoming a new member into their home.

I always leave these sessions feeling grateful and inspired, reminded of how important it is to capture the everyday love that makes a house a home. If you’re considering a at home newborn photoshoot in Abergavenny, know that it’s more than pictures—it’s a chance to preserve the intimate, real, and heartwarming moments of your family story. These sessions are a true reflection of life at its most beautiful and tender. Let's talk about how we can create images which feel true to your Motherhood story and welcome your baby into the world.

And if you are still waiting for baby to make their arrival perhaps you would like to explore a maternity photoshoot on the beach with me. I share more of my work alongside my own motherhood journey over on Instagram, please come and visit me there.

Our photos show our daughter's personality and the way we interact as a family with natural shots rather than posed and manipulated pictures. The shoot was really relaxed and fun and the photos we received will be treasured forever.
